Superb rare English needlework band sampler worked in polychrome silks with lovely English oak and acorn motifs

with a fish next to the date 1644 and worked by MB, alphabet included and lower panels with hatchment and lace type panels.

Very interesting hand written note to the back with a reference to a small tear to the front. This was sustained when the house this

was hanging in was destroyed by a German wartime bomb in 1940. A wonderful all original piece
